What I do
I work in two places that rarely overlap in one person: legacy Microsoft data estates (Azure Data Factory, SSIS, Synapse) and modern lakehouse platforms built on Databricks, Delta Lake and Unity Catalog. That intersection is where migrations usually stall, and it is where I do my best work.
Day to day that means dbt on Snowflake and Databricks, PySpark, medallion architectures and Kimball star schemas, plus the unglamorous discipline of making pipelines cheap to run and predictable.
Who I work with
Consultancies, agencies and product teams in Europe and North America. Usually as a subcontractor on a project they have already sold. You keep the client relationship. I take the workstream, work inside your process, and stay behind your delivery manager unless you want me in front of the client.
How I work
In your environment. Your VPN, VDI or bastion, whichever you already use for contractors. No client data is copied to my machine, ever.
Read-only first. SELECT and query history is enough for the first week, so onboarding does not block useful work.
In writing. A short written standup every working day. Design decisions are written into your docs as the work happens, not reconstructed at handover.
Honest about fit. If a brief is not my work, I say so on the first call. A subcontractor who takes work they cannot deliver costs you a client. That is a bad trade for both of us.
Practical
I am on UTC and my hours are flexible: I shift the working day to the client’s, whether that is a European day or an American one. Five days a week are available for subcontract work. I work in English.
Certified as a Databricks Certified Data Engineer Associate and a Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104). BTS in Information Systems Development.
Two client references are available on request, and the case studies on this site keep the numbers in.
